Achievements Earned In:
The most of this week was spent playing Anthem, after the missus was finally allowed to come back home on Sunday. Getting to really dig into this game made me like it even more, as it’s both a pretty fun romp and also very easy. None of the achievements require you to play on anything harder than Easy. You also don’t have to level up anymore than is needed to get the necessary Javelin rarity. Once your pilot level goes up, the rarity of the items that drop increases for all your Javelins. The aim of hunting this game is all about repetition, sadly. You equip gear and complete four missions with each type in the game. When that’s done, you pick a new set. While working on these, you equip a weapon type and get kills with it. Once you’ve exhausted a Javelin’s options, you move to the next one. Repeat! All the Javelin types can use all the guns (besides the two that only the Colossus can use), then they each have their own set of melee weapons and gear. They also share Components, but there are no achievements directly tied to them. And there lies the main issue people had with the game: you just do the same thing over and over again. Luckily, most achievements don’t require much in the way of grinding, but that comes down to luck since you need the gear you require to actually drop. There’s no way to purchase them, either, so RNGesus better be on your side. I got really lucky and quickly picked up all the items for the Colossus when I finished up the Ranger on Wednesday. And now I’m only a few missions from finishing the Colossus! My current objective is to go around grabbing collectibles, and while I do completing any World Events I come across (which count toward the gear challenges).

All my swiping finally paid off, as I had the achievement for 100k swipes pop in Make It Rain: The Love of Money on Monday morning before I headed to work. I was happy to get this done! It was a very simple game, but I found it very enjoyable. No more rubbing my fingerprints off every morning, though…
