The final days of the trip on Sunday and Monday had me driving over 1200 miles back home, so I really didn’t have time to play much besides A Little to the Left each day before hitting the road. I’m now on Chapter 3, and I’m not sure when I’ll get back to it now that I’m home. I have to complete a full playthrough without skipping any levels or using hints, both things I did for easy/quick achievements already. So, my plan is to complete this current playthrough on stream or whatever, and if the achievements don’t pop, I’ll do a full clean playthrough on stream for content.

Ugh, so while I was on the road Bethesda decided to add yet more achievements to Fallout 76. They didn’t even add much new content to warrant this, as the new achievements are essentially tied to the last expansion, Atlantic City. There’s a new zone and quest line, and ability to freely roam the various zones, but this isn’t anything special. That aforementioned questline is the bulk of the new content, as you help the Russo family and trek through all three zones trying to solve their issue. As for my experience, I actually didn’t mind it too much this time. There’s an achievement for getting fire-based kills so I decided to manage this with a run-of-the-mill Flamer from the casino. A quick respec later and I was on my way. And, wouldn’t you know it, this time through was so much easier! Unlike every other time I return to this game, I didn’t even die until the final boss encounter. I can’t tell if this new area was just the easiest so far, or I was wrecking with that Flamer. But, hey, whatever, I’m done with this again.

No, I’m not eating this, Abbie.

And then it was back to Cross Channel on Tuesday. What a pain! First, I finished up my runs through the Extra scenarios, Another Story and After Story, and got those achievements quick enough. But then it was back to the base game to work on unlocking all the event CGs, select every choice, and read every line of dialogue. Well, I must have missed something, because as I wrapped up my playthrough using the XBA guide I didn’t unlock that latter achievement. This meant I’d needed to play through the entire game and every dialogue choice all over again! And that’s what I did the rest of the week. I couldn’t risk skipping anything, so I just set it to Skip and let it run through everything, making options when necessary. I also found a different, more efficient guide (English speaker using a German guide for a Japanese game…) and finally saw the achievement pop on Saturday evening. From what I observed, it seems I somehow missed around three sections in my previous run. Man, as stated, what a pain. This took FAR too long for one of these visual novels, so ick.

I see they’re learning about American culture today.

With Cross Channel taking so much time, I decided to not mess around on Thursday and Friday and start yet another new game! I went with Lil Gator Game on Game Pass, as I’d already seen some people blowing through it and it looked cute. And, man, this is such a fun little game. You play as a little gator, who is pretending to play something akin to The Legend of Zelda around a park with all this friends in an attempt to make his sister have fun. You run around, slashing cardboard enemies while talking to other kids and befriending them in various ways. It’s just nice and relaxing and there zero conflict (so far). I’m pretty excited to jump back in and decided this will be next. I’m not even gonna use a guide! Just going to vibe~
