I really didn’t have a whole lot of Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector left heading into the week. There are a total of twenty missions in the Age of Crimson Dawn campaign, and I was already on the final Act of the game. The nice thing about the difficulty of the game was that I never felt it really escalated much as the missions went on. Taking it fairly slow and using a phalanx of squads on overwatch kept the hordes at bay pretty well. I used the same army makeup throughout the game. I had planned on maybe rushing the objective on the final mission to just end it, but turns out it was just as easy to sit back and let the enemies come at me. It was the final mission, so even though I did finally lose a couple squads I didn’t really care. I was also able to easily get the miscellaneous achievement I had left in mission 16, which was to simply let the five squads of Death Company get wiped out. They start out in the field, separated from the main army, so you just have to let them draw fire and get trounced. I used their time alive to whittle down some of the opposing forces, too. I also grabbed a second controller for some hotseat multiplayer to mop up those achievements, and I was all done! All-in-all this was a very chill and straightforward completion, so I’m really glad I took the time to get this knocked out before it left Game Pass in a few days.

Winding down another trip to the ICU at Mayo, I thought I’d dig into one of my remaining Dive games. Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is… so boring. Like, every time I’ve tried to load this up and work on it, I’m quickly unable to focus and turn it off. But I made it a point this week to actually work on it all I could while following the guide over on TrueAchievements. This is very much Disney’s version of the American McGee’s Alice games, with all the light and fun Disney properties turned into dark(ish) and creepy(ish) versions of themselves. When I first started the game, I thought it was only the lesser known older cartoon characters, but soon you’re seeing Alice and the Dwarves and such around. I don’t really know what’s actually going on in the game, and I never played the first one, so I’m lost. But, this is a pretty typical action platformer, and sometimes feels a little too by-the-numbers, like something I would have picked up on the Wii. And I just dislike it! I think I’m nearing the end, though. And at least it’s pretty easy. Can’t wait to be done…

I was pulled into a boosting session for Overwatch 2 on Thanksgiving Day this week, and since I wasn’t doing anything this year I figured I’d sit in and see if I could finish the five I had left of the new batch. That didn’t work out as we could never match up, but they did try again successfully the following day. I quickly managed to get the two achievements each for Sojourn and Junker Queen, along with the second I needed for Kiriko. I’m sure I’ll have to return to this one many times for the next couple years, but for now it’s marked off again.
