My only goal this week was to get through Funko Fusion which took until Friday evening. I really blasted through the final areas on Monday, as I only had my final world, The Thing, to play through. It was SO annoying, and kinda boring. First off, there’s a blizzard mechanic (the movie and therefore levels take place in Antarctica) that keeps you on the path and not wandering around. In some levels (night ones) you have to stay near flares to stay warm or the cold hits you, you drop anything you’re carrying, can’t use powers/jump, and have to get back or you take too much damage. The range of that “warm” space is so janky, and more than often I found myself having to almost glitch items to their necessary locations. The boring part is how the very plot of the movie plays out; while most worlds in this game have you running around new areas a lot (except for Hot Fuzz) this is the equivalent of a “bottle episode” and you’re mostly in the U.S. Outpost 31 facility, back and forth and back again. But I got through it, and faced the end boss… which wasn’t very difficult. Apparently it used to be much more annoying, but they patched it and now it’s flatout easy. With that all done, it was time to replay what I needed to clear up the 100%. Luckily I’d been pretty diligent to complete what I could as I proceeded through my first playthrough, and, with the DLC characters, had managed to get a lot done. So mostly what I had to go back and play were the earliest levels, and those I had to do further into my game were only requiring a single collectible or something. I also had skipped all but one of the Cameo Levels, so those also required a thorough combing through. And thanks to Yuletide Freddy, I easily cleared my grind for 5 million vinyl before even the final boss. All-in-all, I think this was a pretty fun game!

My next Gamefly game finally arrived: Marsupilami: Hoobadventure! What boggles my mind is how a cartoon I watched from the early ‘90s got a newer console game? A quick Google showed that apparently it’s still a pretty well-known franchise in Europe, especially in Belgium. Either way, I quickly got an achievement on Saturday as I had a party to help my kiddo host and wouldn’t get to play anymore this week. It looks like a pretty standard platformer, so I’m not expecting much of an issue.
